A Winter Capsule Wardrobe - In The Pale

Tina, here.

A winter capsule wardrobe that you can wear into spring, too! Yes, here is a capsule wardrobe created just for you. You'll notice a pale-toned theme. After all the sizzle and sparkle of the holidays, I'm ready for a more soothing palette. Warm ivories, grays, and pale camel. I crave these warm, soft tones. Be sure to shop the January Must-Haves as well, but this is a special capsule wardrobe with gorgeous pieces you can mix and match for days and days. These outfits include some pieces you may want to pack for a winter getaway to a warm place, but you can wear them in the middle of winter, too, with these layers.

1. Plush Cocoon Coat

Coats typically go on sale at some point in January, but that means the most popular sizes go fast and are sold out by the time you hit "pay now." I've learned the hard way. A cocoon coat is soooo classic and 1950's and exactly what I want to wrap myself in come January.

Here are some cocoon coats too pretty not to show you:

2. Audrey-style Boatneck Sweater

It's hard to show any skin during the cold winter months, but if you can wear a boatneck sweater like this one, you'll be showing the most sensual part of a woman's physique, the neck and collarbone.

A few more options:

3. Flirty Plaid Pencil Skirt

There still are days a dress or skirt is required. In that case, wear a fun skirt with tall boots. You can wear hose if you need to, but you don't have to. (Always match the color of your hose to your skin, and the color of your tights to either your shoes or your skirt/dress for one line of color.)

A few more options:

4. Tall Pale Suede Boots (color Blush Suede)

Pale suede boots are hard to find! This year there have been many good styles, so get them now. They just feel lighter and prettier in the coldest months when dark brown and black boots feel so heavy.

A couple more ways to wear tall boots:

I wanted you to see these gorgeous boots come in several colors:

5. Cashmere Tank

Perhaps the most useful item I have bought lately. These cashmere tanks solve that problem when a heavy sweater is too hot inside but a a blouse isn't warm enough. Layer a cashmere tank under a blazer or lightweight wrap.

What color combinations are you craving this January? I'd love to know!
