I just got a new chambray jacket. I wanted it. I hunted it down. And I scored. Similar here. 

Chambray is by nature casual. Even more so than denim, and that's pretty casual. So a chambray blazer is the perfect yin yang and high low piece.

...which is why I'm wearing my blazer over what some might call a graphic tee. I call it my western glam top. Splitting hairs, really. But the point is that I'm mixing a borrowed-from-the-office piece in a weekend fabric and using it to make my t-shirt seem less weird and more buttoned-up for a 40-something to be wearing.

If you have a chambray shirt, wear it with your white jeans. You'll be fairly casz, so if you love the weight of chambray but want something a bit dressier, you can tuck in your shirt and add a blazer (tan, or navy for a tone on tone look).

I've got these shorts (I SWEAR they are not as short as they look nor are my legs as absurdly skinny as they appear in this picture - it's the camera angle, mkay? However, I am that white. Someone needs to throw some tanner on me.) So my shorts. I love pairing long-sleeves with shorts. So I'm wearing my chambray jacket - you could wear your chambray shirt. It makes the shorts seem more appropriate for a non-camp counselor outing.

A chambray jacket is dressier than a denim or chambray shirt. But you can dress up your chambray shirt by tucking it in and adding lots of jewelry. Add a lightweight sweater. But not a white denim jacket. That's too many species in the same stall.

Chambray + seersucker = match made in sartorial spring heaven.

Since I'm also really into this tone-on-tone dressing lately, I added bead bracelets in more blue tones. It let's everyone know you know what you're doing. You got this. It's sophisticated dressing without being highbrow.
