Cool Dresses For Hot Days

Tina, here.

We've had a slight break from the heat in Nashville the past couple days. I got a big break by going to the mountains for a couple days, where it was at least 10 degrees cooler than in sticky, humid Nashvegas. Can I tell you that I am ready for Fall. It happens every year, the day after the Fourth of July. I'm ready for Summer to turn into Fall so I can go on leave-crunching hikes, build my first fire and head to a football game. (And then, it's hockey season, which is the real reason I crave Fall - I realize this seems weird but I do love hockey. Stick around and you'll see how diverse my interests are :) )

But for now, it's still Summer. Let's enjoy these last carefree days before it's Back To School time, glistening in the sun and drinking gin and tonics (if you like).

I find that on the hottest days I don't want anything touching me. Sticking to me. Or causing me to glisten more than I am. (Southern ladies glisten, we don't sweat, ICYMI.) What's the best dress for a hot day? It's white or light, to reflect the heat instead of absorbing it into your body temp. And it's somewhat flowy. Not prairie-flowy, but with just enough movement that you catch a breeze. I also really like not to have to worry about finding a special bra or going with a strapless bra, because they inevitably slide down when it's hot. There are so many crochet sundresses out there and while I do love them, I wanted something different. So here we are. The best sundresses for hot days. (Shop the look below.)
