Easy, Stylish Alternatives to Unacceptable Hairstyles
Tina gave me the blog today. Mainly because I caught her in unacceptable hairstyles and threatened to expose her.
I've recently been noticing a swarm of different hairstyles that really are just unacceptable for 2015. Most of these can be easily avoided, but you have to be open to change. If no one tells you your hair is outdated or could look so much better another way, how will you ever know you need to do something different? Well, fear not because I'm here to show you 2 looks that are currently unacceptable and the simple changes you can make to start getting compliments on those unknowingly beautiful locks of yours.

1. Lose the hair clips.
I've successfully convinced Tina to get rid of her tacky plastic hair clips. Finally. You probably read this blog where she told y'all to stop wearing them. That was because of my influence. I've been slowly but surely getting her out of old hair habits. She's thankful and loves my honesty. There's no need to throw your hair up in an unattractive contraption when there are quick and stylish ways to tame your mane.
This is only okay when you're outside gardening or cleaning the house. That's what clips are for.
If you're having a bad hair day or it's too dirty to leave down, I would suggest throwing on a cute hat. It's an outfit completer and makes you look put together and stylish, unlike the evil clip.
No one knows how terrible your hair looks when it's mostly covered. And I promise you'll get compliments on the hat. Be bold and try it! 1. Start by back combing a section of your hair at the crown to get some volume.
2. Now put your hair in a low ponytail.
3a. When you pull your ponytail through the band the last time, stop midway without pulling the ends all the way through.
3b. This is what you end up with, a half-ponytail if you will.
4. Take the loose ends and start wrapping them around the base of the ponytail at the hairband.
5. When you've wrapped it as much as you can, tuck the ends in under the hairband and use bobby pins if you need to secure them.
The finished product. I promise it's easier than it looks. You can do this!
Pro tip: This quick and easy chignon works best on slightly dirty hair!
2. Move your part closer to the center.
Donald Trump is the only one allowed to swoop his hair from one ear to the other. It's called a combover and it's not flattering on any woman. You can still have side bangs without them being stuck to your entire forehead.
Besides this look being outdated, I hate how one side of your head has SO much less hair than the other. You're off balance. It's kind of weird.
I'm not saying you have to embrace my trendy boho middle part (although I am pretty obsessed with it) but moving your part a little closer to the center provides balance and enhances your cheekbones, makes your eyes pop and keeps you from looking like you're still hanging out in 2002.
Do you see how this look just opened up her face, made her somehow look younger, and yet her forehead is still slightly covered, but not so much that it looks like she only has one eye? She looks gorgeous!
I know, it goes with my 70's vibe. But if any of my clients have pretty long hair, I suggest the middle part. Once I try it on them, they're usually hooked. Changing your part is the easiest way to update your look!
Pro tip: When changing your part, make sure you start with your hair soaking wet to train it to go the new way. If it's halfway dry when you switch the part, it will want to keep popping back to the way it's used to going.
