Hi Ladies,

I am super glad that October is almost here and the air is a little crisp in the morning. Coat weather will be here soon...don't wait till you actually need a coat and other outerwear pieces to start looking or you will be disappointed.

 

Short Fur Jacket

I can't write a post about outerwear without including my favorite coat in my closet...my short fur jacket. Yes, it is real mink. Yes, I know that this can be viewed as an extravagant piece, but I will tell you that I have owned this jacket for about 10 years and worn it on so many different occasions over everything from jeans to a cocktail dress to a formal gown. I wear it about 85% of the time with my jeans and love the fact that my Cost Per Wear is way down and that I'm not "saving" this coat for a special occasion. One thing to consider when wearing an extravagant piece like a fur jacket is that less is more. I like to take the minimalist approach with my clothes underneath so that my fur jacket becomes my statement piece. This is why I end up wearing my jacket most of the time with jeans and a neutral top.

And it's totally okay to have a smidgen of your top peak out from under your jacket.
