Fall Color Alert! Green and Brown
Tina, here.
Color alert! There are two colors that are making a big splash this season - the whole gamut of greens and all manner of browns. Since I started doing wardrobes and cleaning out closets for women (and men) almost 20 years ago, I've always, always recommended first to buy brown accessories before black, like brown boots, handbags (this is an utter splurge but I've had mine and carried it for over 15 years, so cost per wear works out; you can also buy a pre-owned one here) and belts, because brown is easier to mix with color and is easier to wear in warmer months. So stock up on brown this Fall. And green? Green is a great color to add to your wardrobe because, unlike all the other primary colors, green will pair with black (and of course, with brown, ivory, and the other neutrals). If you can't wear green next to your face, use it as a pop, like in this dress, or wear it on your lower half, as in green cords or a green silk skirt.

Fall Greens and Browns For Your Wardrobe
Army green and olive for more yellow undertones; forest green, mint, celadon for pinker undertones; they are all everywhere this Fall. And browns? All my favorites - camel, chocolate, fawn, mink, cognac (all together now! con-YAK), and mahogany.
