Toss It Or Keep It? Cleaning Out Your Closet
Tina, here.
Have you read The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo? So many people are talking about it. Order it now to get that inspiration you need to clean out your coat closet. It seems to have everyone in the mood to de-clutter and clear out the extraneous parts of our lives.
I figured I could help you clean out your closet and get rid of clothes that are bad for you, cause that's what we do in our one-on-one consulting appointments. I'm answering your question, Toss it or keep it? and showing you how clothes should fit so you keep the right ones and pass the wrong ones (for you) on to someone else. Repeat after me. Fit is first.
Toss It Or Keep It? Cleaning Out Your Closet
1. Old sweaters? Toss, but not out the door; move over to the at-home leisure-wear drawer.
2. White blouses (or any color) with sloppy breast pockets? Toss out the door.
2a. Ruffled blouses? Toss most, keep some.
2b. What about those floral Liberty blouses that have been so trendy? Keep, but wear very sparingly.
3. Baggy pants. Toss. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
4. Khakis. Toss. Do not pass go. Do not collect $200.
5. Baggy jackets and blazers. Alter or toss.
6. Vintage jackets. Keep.
