Here's Your Summer Wardrobe

It's time to sort through your Summer wardrobe and get rid of the outdated trends (like holey and skinny-minny jeans, and all those pieces that make us look like extras from the cast of South Pacific or The Pirates of Penzance) and bring back the still-good-to-go eyelet sundresses (yellow is now), floral tops (block prints are still strong) and thong sandals (on the dressy side).
But there are some strange, new trends we must address. You're seeing, no doubt, something weirdly familiar, aren't you? Yes, the stores, and maybe your Amazon cart, are full of what look like... pajama sets being sold as actual clothes? Come again? I'm a hard no on these matching sets in the shorts and top category. Now, as an athleisure-wear set, that's a different story (great for travel), but I'm sorry, I had my day in the sun in my matching gingham shorts and halter top. When I was eight. A few other trends I'm passing on are barrel jeans (AWW-FUL) and jellies. So, let's look at what's new and good, and how to pull it off, and how to keep wearing what's already in your closet from last Summer. These trends I'm choosing to pass on, but if you elect to partake, just please don't overspend because the hottest trends are the ones that die fast and age you like a dried bean if you're caught wearing them past their split-second in the sun. Mkay, cupcakes? (If you're young and cute, the rules, annoyingly, don't apply to you.)
