Ways To Wear These Charming Spring Styles

My wardrobe has grown in style by leaps and bounds over the past several years as I've added special Halsbrook pieces each season. There's just no other online boutique I've found with the same breadth of good taste, variety of price points, stellar customer service and WEARABLE yet beautiful items as Halsbrook has. To prove my point, I've styled many of these new pieces with my famous Halsbrook picks from past seasons. This is how I build a wardrobe for myself and my clients: I start with a foundation of beautiful classics that I can wear year after year (and in multiple seasons, don't forget), and add fun pops each season to make everything look fresh and new again! All about driving that cost per wear down ;) If you missed any of these classics from before, guess what you can still get them this go round, AT 20% OFF!

Outfit # 1  SLIM WHITE JEANS + 2 SHADES OF BLUE

1. Nest Amazonite Bead Triple Strand Necklace, $395 $316 | 2. Jane Post Navy Techno Water Repellent Trench Coat, $495 $396 | 3. AG JEANS Prima White Jeans, $188 $150.40 | 4. BLUE Seafoam Pima Cotton Boatneck Sweater, $145 $116

One of the ways I love to wear color is to mix 2 shades, like navy and turquoise. With white, naturally. These AG slim jeans work on almost every single one of my clients (slim vs. skinny jeans debate here). A good mid-rise, slim leg, substantial denim (not see-through) and good stretch (but not too much). They're the best white jeans at the moment, IMHO. Can I take a minute and talk about this navy trench? It is hands down the best trench I've seen in years. Those snappy white buttons are everything. It has the cutest striped lining, and the navy is definitely a blue navy, i.e. you won't wonder if it's really black. Perhaps my favorite detail is the hood - detachable. This frees up your hands from having to carry an umbrella, which is just always such a nuisance. Let me wax poetic about the cotton boatneck sweater - it feels like cashmere, but you won't sweat because it's cotton, and the boatneck is SO flattering (comes in many colors). Perfect springtime long sleeve sweater, which is near impossible to find. Trust me. There are like 3 long sleeve tops in the world I like for cool Spring days or evenings, and this is one of them. You also know I can't pass up a good turquoise-y color necklace. And I've really been into multi-strand necklaces. This one is actually amazonite beads, with lots of facets so they "sparkle" without being sparkly or cheap-looking, if you know what I mean. They are GORGEOUS in person. The color. To die for. Anyway, it's the perfect "3rd piece" you need, especially if you're not wearing a v-neck.

1. Mignonne Gavigan Flora Mother of Pearl Drop Earrings, $125 $100 | 2. Kinross Grey and Beige Stripe Cotton Cashmere Ruana, $325 $260 | 3. AG JEANS Prima White Jeans, $188 $150.40 | 4. Brochu Walker Bree Beige Cashmere Henley Sweater, $498 $398.40

Can we talk about how pretty jewelry is this Spring?! Well, actually, you kind of have to dig to find it, and when I saw these chalcedony-ish drop earrings with pearl flora I about died. You know, right, that the most flattering earring shape is a teardrop, because it frames your face and lengthens your neck. Long hair, short hair, anyone can wear them. These are basically a neutral - you can wear them with other neutrals (duh) but also pink (swoon), blue, green. Ok and this ruana, which I also call a pashmina when I can't remember the weird word ruana, is sooooooo soft and cozy. You know all those flights you've booked to go see children in distant lands and beaches you've forgotten what look like, you need this to wrap up in en route, and once you arrive in chilly restaurants, morning walks and at home watching TV. No I'm serious - it's that good. It's worth it. Plus, it goes with everything in your closet. The honey-colored henley sweater is another great Spring layer. You'll need to wear a cami under it, or actually you can wear it over a long sleeve tee. It's that chic/sporty/luxe/casual kind of layer that you know is so good.

Outfit #3 Cashmere Topper + Favorite Pants

1. Hinson Wu Betty White Stretch Cotton Shirt, $168, $134.40 | 2. Cortland Park Sophie Light Teal Cable Knit Cashmere Cardigan, $495 $396 | 3. B-Low The Belt Gatsby Bone Leather Wrap Belt, $115, $92 | 4. Salvatore Ferragamo Vara Print Pumps, $695 | 5. Cambio Ros Truffle Taupe Techno Stretch Pant, $290 $232

Oooh lala the richness of this outfit makes me almost cry it is so good. Remember these Cambio stretch pants? I've featured them in a few colors before because they are divine. I do love this truffle color - looks beautiful with Spring pastels and Fall jewel tones alike. And you may also remember this Betty White Shirt - from last Spring - I wear mine all the time because it doesn't touch me, number one, and number two, it still looks chic because it has some shape and lots of style. The collar is so pretty. Aaaaanyway, you need a spring topper. And this cashmere one is so soft and cuddly and I have to say, the color of the light teal is just gorgeous. It's complex and chameleon so you can pair it with a lot of different pieces. It's long enough to hide your tush, but it doesn't add that dreaded volume that so many long sweaters do. And remember the wrap belt??! I think it's from one of the first features I did on Halsbrook, and it's such a great accessory! Fits ANY size and really finishes an outfit, especially a long sweater. Great with a shirtdress, too.

Outfit #4 Caftan + Ruana

1. Sail to Sable Blue Palm Printed Ruffle Neck Dress, $268 $214.40 | 2. Kinross Grey and Beige Stripe Cotton Cashmere Ruana, $325 $260 | 3. Donald J Pliner Illiad Platform Wedge Slide Sandal, $198 | 4. Janis by Janis Savitt Silver Twist Cobra Bracelet, $140 $112

I'm living my best life in a caftan. How brilliant - they are flowy and cool, and very Babe Paley by the pool. But also good for dinner with friends, a Saturday wedding shower or a Sunday afternoon drinking tea on the porch. Just be that woman who wears caftans. Ok so fine it's a maxi dress but I like caftan better, plus it's really the maxi that is trying to be as chic as a caftan, and the maxis these days are way too boho and prairie for me. This one, on the other hand, is everything a long summer dress is meant to be. Add the ruana to cover your arms and you're set. Oh! And the cobra bracelet from many seasons back! You see me wear mine all the time because it's a great classic - you can still snag one!

Outfit #5 Skort + Ruana

1. Ala Von Auersperg Agnes White Tank, $150, $120 | 2. Kinross Grey and Beige Stripe Cotton Cashmere Ruana, $325 $260 | 3. Janis by Janis Savitt Silver Twist Cobra Bracelet, $140, $112 | 4. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star '70 Ox Athletic Shoes in Parchment, $79.95

A DARLING SKORT! With pockets! That's not too short! And hides sweat! It's like the Triple Crown! Plus, you can get it in multiple patterns, too. Just promise me you'll wear them with a white top. Let the skort do the talking. But seriously, I want every color. You can dress this skort up with a cute little sandal and white button down blouse (plus ruana), or run errands on those hot hot days in a tank and converse. I'm telling you this ruana will save your life. Cost per wear will go down in the first week you own it.
