A holiday blouse is pretty much a must-have for this time of year. You can pair it with jeans for a casual get-together or with velvet pants for a dressier event. And, if you get the right one in your closet, like this plaid blouse (look at the subtle ruffle at the neck - I love it), it will give you even more mileage after the holidays! I've paired it with this stretch cotton pant that is almost silvery, so it dresses up well. It comes in other colors, too, and is a STEAL at just over $100 for such a classic ankle pant (it's year round, too!).

One dress, two looks. Day to night. Office to Christmas cocktails. Christmas pageant to Christmas Eve. Just change out your layer - a cardigan for a fancy topper or beautiful silk scarf. The dress is sleeveless, and is long for you long-legged women. (It can also be hemmed.) I will be removing the side pockets so it lays nicely, and won't move around on your waist. I have to give another honorable mention to this ivory tweed topper. It is the PERFECT 3rd piece you need for evening over a dress or even a festive blouse with jeans so you won't wear your puffy jacket or fleece (because that is a terrible idea and would ruin your entrance). And the color takes it right into Spring!

I just adore pink dresses. I included one last year too for this holiday post. Pink is so refreshing at Christmastime rather than a red or green or black dress. This one has the hand of taffeta. It's sleeveless so for cooler months you'll want the ivory tweed topper or drape a silk scarf around your shoulders. This silk scarf is a SHOWSTOPPER. You can wear it multiple ways - see below... this is that high-end signature accessory you've been looking for to complete your outfits. Wear your pink dress everywhere in December and you won't be able to keep track of the compliments you get because not only will you be pretty in pink, you'll have the prettiest rosy complexion, too. Then wear it in Spring and Summer to graduations, weddings, baptisms and garden parties.

I couldn't wait to get to this mahogany silk blouse - it's easier to wear than an off the shoulder or strapless blouse but you get the same elegant effect. It drapes your décolleté beautifully, and the color is rich, rich, rich. Notice the very subtle chain detail, it's like the monili chain on those million dollar blouses, at a much better price. For the holidays I've paired it with black velvet stretch pants, that feel exactly like yoga pants (yes, I actually do know what those feel like even though they're not actual pants). I mean, they feel like pajamas. These are the pants for your tunics and blouses you wear when you just don't want to tuck in anything.
I took the same outfit and topped it with what I call a coatdress that is an outfit-completer. Obviously you can wear it over pants or a dress. The holidays are the time to grab one and make it yours because a pretty topper that is long, and not a thousand dollars, is SO hard to find! See more below.
9. HELENE BERMAN FLORAL JACQUARD JACKET $365, your price $292
I wanted to show you how to wear this jacquard jacket/topper over a dress - it can be shorter than your dress, first of all. It can also be left on, as part of your ensemble, or deposited when you make your arrival. This one in particular is stunning. It looks VERY expensive. I love Helene Berman because her jackets are gorgeous, well-made, and not crazy expensive. You can also wear it over black jeans and a pretty silk top for a high-low look.

THE pink blazer. Here it is. Pretty in every way. The color is flattering to every skin tone. The shape is classic perfection. Now's your chance to get it on sale. Dress it up with nice pants like these cropped flare dreamy espresso brown ones. I could sleep in these pants, by the way. You won't believe the fabric - it's a super soft and stretchy blend and they do indeed feel dreamy. (The fabric also means they will travel well, too.) Brown pants are hard to find, as you have probably noticed, and these are your new favorite pair. You can dress down the blazer with jeans - and come Spring, wear it with...white jeans of course!
12. LOEFFLER RANDALL SIENNA BROWN CLUTCH $275, your price $220
The one piece that can make any outfit read holiday is a velvet clutch! This rich sienna brown velvet one is drop dead gorgeous. I'm serious. The color goes with everything, and is mesmerizing with a slight sheen, the kind silk velvet has. And the gold chain looks like a real necklace - very nice touch. Just as great with jeans and cowboy boots as with a fancy party dress.
