You know what I love about Barbara Burns? Well there are so many things, but she is one of those truly genuine souls who can laugh and cry with you at just the right moment. She's a giver; she has brought me food more than once when I've had surgery. And her style! Divine.

I found this blazer on a girls' shopping trip to Chicago. I Instantly fell in love because of the persimmon color. It is SO fall, isn't it? And I loved how it cinches in at the waist. This color looks great with jeans, but also with black (I consider it an earth tone), brown and winter white! I've had it for years and it is still one of my favorite pieces for fall.

We all love to layer in the fall, right? I layer this blazer over my favorite black turtleneck. I feel like the black really anchors the blazer.

And I love mixing in a scarf where I can. This one is a favorite because it was a gift from 2 special cousins, and I also like the brown in it as another color that makes the outfit interesting.

Here's how Tina styled it, "I love a blazer over a dress, especially if you want to create a waist. Barbara has this great chambray shirtdress (great fabric for fall!) that I love with her blazer. It kind of reminds me of  something you'd wear when you've just come back from safari."

I LOVE this poncho! First of all, it's reversible with my 2 favorite colors for fall, black and camel. My cost per wear automatically drops significantly because it pairs so well with other pieces, so you will see me wearing this a lot this fall! When I'm not with my clients, I'm traveling to see my two grown children and my grandbaby, or out west....and this is the perfect travel wrap.

There are so many ways to wear a poncho or cape. I belted it here, worn with jeans, but I will also wear it over a column of black and drape one side over the other.

I think a turtleneck works well under a poncho like this because there is a lot of extra fabric, so I think the rest of the outfit needs to be as simple as possible. A winter white turtleneck or white blouse would be really great under this as well.

I found this sheath last year and I loved it because of the leather inset on the sides. Tina has talked for a long time about how valuable a sheath is, and of course, she is absolutely right! A sheath dress is a must-have for every woman! I can instantly feel pulled together when I wear this one piece, no matter where I'm going: a cocktail party with dressy heels, or a casual lunch with my husband or girlfriends with a jean jacket and boots.

I could also wear my wedges with this sheath for a much more casual look.

I picked up this leather jacket last spring, and I love it with this dress. When I want to cover my arms in a sleeveless dress, I throw on a jacket, or I have also draped a pashmina over my shoulders.

I love the new baby flare jean (Not to be confused with boho bellbottoms). As Tina has said for years, the bootcut is the most flattering pant silhouette for any woman, and we've been putting our clients of every age and size in them for years. We know where all the good ones are this season, too! I love a good, dark rinse like these because it is so timeless.

I'm 5'10" and my flare jeans require a tall heel. A bootie with a high heel works best for me. I think your shoes need to be simple. The flare needs to be the attention-getter, not your shoes. The taller you are, the more flare you can do. If it is the right jean, it's fabulous! There's a fab pair of baby flare jeans inside the September Vault, and really well-priced! You can also dress up your jeans and wear them out to a nice dinner by adding a fun shoe and a sparkly clutch. A pretty silk blouse looks great with jeans, too.

I bought this leather skirt on a trip with my husband Greg. It fits as a leather skirt should...pretty form-fitting without a lot of wiggle room. I have loved this skirt because I pair it with tops that are flowy, and the overall look is feminine and flattering.

I dressed up the skirt with this silk top, but I can't wait to pair my poncho with it this fall! I found these boots years ago while on a girls' shopping trip to Chicago. I'm thinking I found them on the same trip I found my blazer! And the common theme is the rusty persimmon color. I adore these boots, and they are really more suited for Nashville than all the snow we see in Wyoming!

If you wear your skinny jeans tucked inside your tall boots like I have here, just be sure you don't get elephant knees. Your jeans have to be a true skinny to fit inside the boots.
