Suede For Spring - Yes!

Linen in Winter. Cashmere in Summer. Suede in Spring. It's a crazy world. But ever since the rules were tossed out with "no white jeans after Labor Day" and "no sandals before Easter" - anything goes. Almost. There are still rules, and we need to know them and know how to break them, mkay cupcakes?
Starting with suede in Spring. First, the lighter the shade of suede the better. IF you can get your hands on some ivory leather or suede pants, now that's just the bees knees. But a color like cream with some coffee in it, the way I take it, is just fine for a Spring skirt or pants.

When can you start wearing sandals? When it's warm enough. Actually, it's the weather more than anything that really determines what you can wear when. I'll tell you how crazy things are now...I belong to a woman's club, an old-fashioned ladies club my grandmother and great-aunts belonged to, and it is simply a lovely place to visit with new and old friends alike, and the dress code is, or rather was, quite traditional: no pants. When I arrived for a luncheon a couple weeks ago, I was about the only one in a dress! Most all the ladies were wearing pants - I couldn't believe the change. My grandmother would have loved it. So, even these kinds of places are bending the rules. But I will add - no denim allowed! We have our limits.
I guess you could say the only rule is, dress to respect, not to impress, and you will always be a lady.
