The Perfect Spring Tops You Need Now For Layering
Tina, here.
Spring IS coming, I promise. It always does. Every year. And every year we are caught off guard and seemingly have nothing to wear when the sun comes out and the wool goes to the dry-cleaners.
The key to Spring dressing? Layers. Start with a long sleeve top on the coolest of Spring mornings, add a jacket or cardigan, and then lose that layer as the day gets warmer. I've got all the tops and layering pieces you need in our latest Wardrobe Capsule: The Perfect Spring Tops, which you can purchase here for just $9.99. Buy Now
Swap out your cords and dark jeans for a lighter color jean, add a blazer over a long-sleeve or short-sleeve t-shirt you don't mind wearing on its own when you take off your jacket (i.e. make sure it's not see-through). Early in the season, your ankle boots are good until it warms up enough to bare your toes. via pinterest
Pull out your Spring dresses now and wear them with a denim jacket or open cardigan that you can peel off as the temps rise. via skirttherules
Gingham says Spring with a capital "S." I have a fabulous gingham blouse picked out for you in our Perfect Spring Tops Wardrobe Capsule, available to purchase here for just $9.99: Buy Now Layer it with a sweater or lightweight anorak in early Spring. Via inhonorofdesign
As the season progresses, switch to a short-sleeve top, and don't forget to add that extra layer for cooler mornings and evenings. A pashmina is a perfect choice, or a jacket or lightweight sweater. I have all these picked out for you in the Perfect Spring Tops Wardrobe Capsule.
Tops to avoid:
No babydoll tops.
A babydoll top, or empire waist creates a wide horizontal plane at your widest part, the ribcage. Or as we like to say, it creates a boob shelf with lots of volume over your tummy. No thank you. via pinterest
No crew necks.
A crewneck is a boyish cut that closes you off and can make you look more buxom than you may want to appear. Go with a v-neck or scoop neck instead, which will open you up and create a vertical line. via Sierra Trading Post
No peasant blouses.

No crop-tops. As if.
