What To Wear Instead Of An Ugly Christmas Sweater
Tina, here.
You're not allowed to wear an ugly Christmas sweater (and if you're wondering what constitutes ugly, most of them are ugly) unless your host or hostess specifically requests that you wear one. And by all means, do not pay good money for one. Go to your local Goodwill.
Instead of an ugly Christmas sweater, here dolls, are a few more holiday outfits to get you ready for the last weekend before December 25. Cheers!

Red and white is very crisp and says holiday! And it's not a Santa costume when you make the individual pieces chic and sophisticated, like a pencil skirt and ivory bomber jacket. Shop a similar ivory bomber jacket in the December Style Vault! It's been a huge hit.

I do not wear that much red at all, but I have about 3 red items in my closet and you've by now seen them all: my red Prada shoes, my red CHA CHA CHA sweater and this red Prada skirt. I just realized this, all 3 red items were bought at consignment shops! In London, Paris and Nashville over the years. Which makes perfect sense, not to blow your budget on items you rarely wear and can't mix and match with a lot of other things in your closet. Lesson noted? Good.

No one seems to know what shoes to wear when you have on red. First rule: not red shoes. And probably not nude either, unless it's a good brown nude as opposed to a pinky nude. Black is always a stunning choice. Black shoes are not a huge game day color statement, so don't worry about my often brought up rule of no primary colors with black. Millimeters, dolls, millimeters.
2. Green and Black (not green and red, duh)

Green is my favorite holiday accent color. It looks so good against black, like a forest or the inside of a terribly romantic powder room. Green is, after all, a color from nature so that's why it works with black.

Remember that rule about cutting a crew neck top with a chunky necklace? Rule applied.

Black patent heels, again, because they are perfect with any holiday outfit. And a little fur clutch? Why not? It jazzes up an otherwise quiet holiday outfit. This month's December Style Vault has the most adorable little fur clutch in it. Members, shop now.
3. All Winter White (not red and green, duh)

Winter white, how I love thee? All four seasons. At Christmas, in spring, in summer and fall. But during the holidays a winter white outfit can be so soothing against all the noise and color.

As long as the textures are different, you can mix shades of ivory and pale gold or silver and winter white. To achieve that tonal look that looks so soft and pretty during a wintry holiday. Such a pretty pair of soft gold pants inside the December Style Vault. And 20 new items have been added to the Style Notes so far this month!
