What to Wear On Thanksgiving

Tina, here.

I want you not to worry over Thanksgiving weekend about what to wear. I want you to enjoy time with your family. To relax and renew friendships. And to feel like yourself. And to make memories in really good outfits. Because, pictures.

So dolls, I'm going to give you your prescription for What To Wear On Thanksgiving. And I'm giving you a few options in order of dressiness. My family is in the mountains in front of a huge fire wearing our flannels and cords. So that's fine, but here we'll start with one step up from that.

Instead of wearing a plaid flannel shirt with your cords, how about a pretty blouse. With a little flow to it. It softens the roughness of the cords.

Any good southern girl knows you never show up without a gift. Any guest with manners knows this, too. Spoiler alert, mine is an orchid 75% of the time.

I found these exact boots I bought a year ago for Style Vault Insiders! You can shop here.

To take the cords up a notch, switch to winter white or ivory bootcut cords. Or dress pants.

Are we seeing a theme here? Yes. Winter white and tone on tone. My trademark, really. Don't be afraid of these colors. I promise you we have put every shape and size into winter white dresses and pants and jeans.

Now we're leaving pants behind and going for a skirt and dressier shoes. I chose a black skirt because surely you have one in your closet? From an old suit you used to wear to the office? I've put this midi skirt into the What To Wear Thanksgiving collection so you can always try that one or update what you have.

So I chose a pale silvery grey oversized sweater that pairs well with a fitted, albeit a tad longer, skirt. But the great thing about black is you can pair any other neutral with it (not primary colors, though). Black on black is even dressier. And so easy.

Now for the dress-lovers.

Long-sleeve or short-sleeve is fine, depending on your climate. I just love winter white and you won't see a whole lot of folks wearing it, either. It's chic and a bit glamorous. And these days you can get almost any stain out of anything.

A pashmina is always a good idea. I like the chocolate brown for a nod to Fall.

Ok fellow countrywomen, let's celebrate our good and glorious land, and give thanks to our founding fathers, in style.

All the best,

Tina
