A Stylish Holiday Wreath: 25 Days of Delights, December 5, 2015
Tina, here.
This will not shock you. I decorate my home at Christmas in much the same way I dress for the holidays: mostly neutrals glammed up with a bit of holiday sparkle. Just a bit. It's what I hope is a holiday with QGT (quiet good taste). Not a loud affair with candy canes and reindeer everywhere and red and green paraphernalia. So, that means mostly whites and silver and pale golds. I don't wear a lot of red, and neither does my home, so my holiday accent color is green.
I'm making this quiet, stylish holiday wreath this weekend. It's easy peasy. In fact, "making" is a bit of an exaggeration. It's more like "assembling."
I found this on the world's largest dream board, Pinterest. Grab a $15 or less cedar wreath. Pine or fir would work, too. Then gather some pinecones from your yard or your neighbor's (and if you live in a building surrounded by concrete, your local craft store will have some.) Attach them to the top of the wreath, using twist ties from your bagels, or the cords from the tech products you're always buying (like the fab earbuds in the Style Vault's Holiday Gift Guide). Then scrounge up some white ribbon (or silver or gold, just not red, please) and hang it. Voila. A beautiful, quiet and tasteful wreath.
