As a child, I was the keeper of the Advent Calendar in our house. No one loved it more than I did. I would stare at the little un-opened windows and couldn't believe how many days there were til Christmas. And then when it was just days before Christmas, I would savor every single new window I opened as if I had no idea what was behind that flap (of course I had them memorized from the time I was five).
These are some of the Advent Calendars I grew up with. These days, they are more exciting because you can get actual gifts when you open each window!
