If you are constantly in search of pretty, wearable tops, here is a true wardrobe hero. I cannot explain how absolutely gorgeous the cut and feel of this Finley blouse is - the subtle ruffle neckline and flutter sleeves are sooo beautiful, and the colors so soft. Very ladylike, yet quite modern and fresh. Dress it down with a pair of jeans (I'm wearing AG Mari Cream Cropped Jeans) and espadrille sneakers, or dress it up with a pretty pair of white pants like the Miracle Pants by Elliott Lauren.
All you white jeans lovers hear ye hear ye! Here's an alternative for when you want the same great wardrobe hero but in a slightly different yet closely related color, just to mix it up and keep your fans guessing! OFF-WHITE ankle jeans! Revolutionary! And very hard to find, I promise. Again, AG Jeans answers the call to duty. Everyone asks me what my favorite jeans are, and right now it's AG. You might order a size up since generally the lighter the rinse, the more likely you are to want some more stretch (but make sure they aren't too loose or you get saggy bottoms). Speaking of the Miracle Pants - I coined this phrase years ago when I featured them on my blog, and the company actually reached out to me because they traced their spike in orders back to my website! It is also how I discovered Halsbrook. I was frantically looking for a source, and found them on Halsbrook's site, and have had a glorious relationship with them ever since! These Miracle Pants come in lots of colors, and are SO affordable!! They have a flat, elastic waistband for a pull-on style, and are cut nice and lean, but have plenty of stretch. The white ones are NOT see-through! Hands Up! Buy a pair for casual days with tees and sandals, and a "dress-up" pair for, well, dressing up. :)
What another great Summer Essential. A topper that can either be a stand-alone blouse, or you can wear it as a topper/jacket over any number of outfits. You can toss this jacket on over a sheath, or a silk cami and dress pants, or, as I am apt to do, over a tank and the Miracle Pants. The pattern and colors take to the fabric beautifully, and don't miss the silk knot buttons!! With these details, you can tell these are handmade.

Such a classic! A navy and white striped button down for Summer, but this one, oh this one is special. A 3/4 sleeve is so feminine, and cool without baring your upper arms (which you shouldn't worry about anyway!). The ruffle cuffs are perfect, and you can't see them, but this blouse has really nice mother-of-pearl buttons (hard to come by at this price point these days, and they do make a difference). I'm wearing it with the Miracle Pants, and it also looks great with shorts, a denim skirt, jeans or dress pants. Very versatile, I'd say!
CP Shades Navy Linen Palazzo Pant $270, your price $216
Palazzo pants are in the same category as caftans for me - they make me think I'm in a seaside town walking down a cobblestone street and buying sidewalk art. But in the real world, they actually do make sense: they are loose fitting and lightweight so they flow while you move, and they make your legs look loooong. When it's too hot for my ever faithful white jeans, and I'm not in the mood for a dress, linen palazzo pants are the singular answer. CP Shades is a legend in linen. The best I've seen and worn, I must say, in terms of weight, colors and drape. Pair these with a shorter top, or tie a button down at your waist.

I have put several clients in this dress, in many colors. Its tiered-ruffle bottom is not too much, not too little, but the Goldilocks just right. You can belt it (I've put this belt with it), or not. You can wear it with wedges or heels, or with flats (because it's not too full). If it's too long on you, it can be hemmed. I like it to hit right under the bottom of your calf muscle.

Another dreamy Summer dress. This one reminds me of a yellow, floral bias-cut skirt I had in my 20's from the Limited that was soooo feminine. I wish I had kept it. So when I saw this sundress, I knew it was my chance to revive that feeling I had wearing it, that feeling that Summer will last forever, and it will be full of long afternoons in a wicker rocking chair with fruit tea and a magazine, porch fans overhead and neighbors stopping by with their little ones to say hi. Yes, I've been an old soul since my 20's. (Who still has their vintage Victoria magazines?) Slip on this dress, in au courant yellow, and add a lightweight cardigan or pashmina for your arms if you need it. Oh and this dress has its own slip! I love it when those details are taken care of...

This 100% cotton gauze fabric (the pants) is hugely popular for a reason - they feel like jammies, they don't require ironing, and they are all cotton! Hard to find clothing with all natural fibers these days. The navy is so crisp. These are kind of like joggers, but a great summer weight, and they have a drawstring waist AND pockets! I think they look best with something shorter or something that can be tucked in without too much blousy-ness, like a tank.
Or, my favorite way to wear them is with this Frank & Eileen sleeveless button down, tied at the waist. If you like the look, this shirt is perfect for it because it is just roomy enough, and just long enough to tie it without showing any midriff (as if!). If you wear it untucked, it will cover your bum, and the curved shirttail keeps you from looking boxy or frumpy. And I don't know what it is, but Frank & Eileen shirts are everything. I used to scoff at the price because I thought I could find the same thing cheaper. But no. No, there is no rival. I know this seems exaggerated to go on and on, but truly, their cotton is milled in Italy, and they just know how to cut a piece of fabric to lay properly on a woman's curves. End of story.

This blue floral dress is made from a very forgiving stretch crepe, and has a removable self-tie belt, giving you the versatility of two dress shapes in one. If you are high or low waisted, you can remove the tiny belt loops and just tie the belt exactly where it is comfortable on you. With a very generous 4" hem, you have plenty of room to make it longer (for reference, I'm 5' 5").
I adore this dress with pink, citrus and moss tones for Summer!! It's actually a classic shirt dress, but with a pretty little sleeve and a subtle bottom tier ruffle. It, too, has a self-tie sash and I like it with or without, depending on your mood. It's a cotton voile, and has its own slip - thank you Bella Tu!
