Something Sparkly For Your Holiday Outfits

So I have two holiday parties this weekend and no new outfits to prance around in. But you know, I really never buy clothes for a specific occasion. I buy what I love when I see it (if it's in my budget), and I have what I need in my closet for just about any type of event. I make do with what I have if I don't already own what is being requested by a witty party-giver like "Creative Cocktail" or "Casual Festive." I mean, it sounds fun, but these party dress codes are creating stress for my clients, you hostesses out there.
Remember when Bridget Jones showed up for a themed party, but there was a last minute theme change and everyone else showed up in suits? It wasn't good. Image.
My Gannie taught me when you don't have something fancy enough for an event, just pile on a lot of jewelry at once, wear some bright red lipstick and put on your best perfume. You will exude fanciness. Here's how I would interpret this advice for holiday parties.

So your formula for what to wear to a holiday party when you have nothing to wear is wear something sparkly with something classic and add jewelry, fancy shoes and a red lip. Done.
