I love white wardrobes. We know that. But I want you to, too. And you probably know that as well. It's a crusade I won't quit fighting til I get you to consider wearing some winter white. So, give me another chance, will you?

1. First of all, your winter "whites" can be ivory, cream, parchment, oyster. Or shades of all these worn together.

When you are wearing winter whites, you'll want to include some texture to keep it interesting.

2. If you are worried that wearing white will emphasize an area you want to minimize, like your bum, wear a longer top.

Your chest area? Add a scarf or long necklace to draw attention to the center of the body, creating a long vertical line. (Yes, I keep preaching the same rules over and over because memory loss.) You'll also want to wear the right cami, of manmade stretch material.

Wear a white cami under a primary color top like red or blue.

Wear an ivory cami under a white top.

Wear a black cami under a black or dark navy top.

I have this cotton t-shirt dress I lived in last summer. On a mild day in winter, I'll wear it with a sweater coat and knee boots.

Summer.

Winter. Add tights if necessary. Match your tights to the color of your boots. #ruleofthumb

3. Let me tell you something. The right shapewear makes it possible to wear almost anything you want.

Please don't sneer at me :) But it's true. Some people double up on their shapewear, wearing two pairs of spanx or what have you at the same time. But you do get what you pay for. It's all about the materials used. You can't skimp in this department. I prefer biker shorts and a cami to a one-piece, but I know others don't. Just be sure to get this right for you and a world of new clothing opportunities will open up to you, including wearing more white! Gosh I  love my photographer who makes my legs not look as scary white as they really are in winter! But truth is, unless it's freezing cold I do not wear tights on my legs. It's just another step, and I'd rather spend that time looking for jewelry to wear.

In this case, if I needed to, I would wear hose over tights. Don't pass out. These are the hose you want: the ones that make your legs look buttered (that's what the Brits say). Not a different color. Your legs, just better. My favorites by far are here.
