Shopping While Vacationing - Don't Lose Your Mind
Tina, here.
I spent the most delightful weekend in the Louisiana Bayou recently. And you know how it goes, new town, new shops, fake money! Do you feel like your money is Monopoly money when you're out of town? Like it doesn't count what you spend? Why is that? Or is it just me. Don't answer that. Anyway, I used said Monopoly cash and found some cute things, which I'm sharing here. ALSO thought I'd share some of the blog's most popular styles from this Summer so far because it won't be long before we'll start talking about, gulp, Fall fashion. 8-O
My precious friend and her husband left the Volunteer state to return to her beloved bayou, so go to her I must and did!
Vacation Shopping
It was HOT and STEAMY so I was craving an airy, flowy summer dress and lost my mind and bought this one that goes against my rules - it is way full, has no shape, is a bit trendy, was on sale, and I loved it. Like love. You're not supposed to buy something on vacation you wouldn't wear in normal life. You're not supposed to buy something just because it's on sale. You're not supposed to buy something that looks like a sack on you. But buy it I did and I have worn it like 5 times since with pride and glee! Here's the darling shop where I got it on sale, but it's no longer on sale there, and they only have a medium, but I've tagged it below where you can still find it. Do I regret this vacation purchase? No. No I do not. Every time I wear it I think of my dear, sweet friend and her bayou.
I had to share the mossy oaks with you - they are mesmerizing and hauntingly beautiful, especially in an ancient cemetery.
The lovely St. Francisville Inn, where I felt right at home along with the Carpenter Gothic "Painted Lady" summer cottages, as my Gannie called them, just like the ones in the Tennessee hills where we spent our summers, Monteagle. Look at that moss hanging from the live Oak tree!

This shirtdress by The Shirt is amazing - it reminds me of a photo of Audrey Hepburn in a white button down that she twisted and wrapped around herself in the most chic way. This boutique in St. Francisville is out of it, but you can get it here. The number of things I resisted buying far outweighs what I did, so thank you for your support and not judging :-) !
Here is a bonus section with popular styles from the blog still available, but they'll be selling out soon - as the season peaks this week with the Fourth, and we make our way towards Fall. AACK! But relax, it's still June.
